Of course, a winter vacation to Colorado would not be complete without taking advantage of local ski resorts and snowmobile trails. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are an enjoyable winter activity for the whole family. Rifle area volunteers work hard each winter to groom and maintain more than 25 miles of trails for snowmobiles, cross-country skiers, and individuals snowshoeing on the Flat Top Mountains. Parking is available right at the trailhead, 12 miles up the Buford Road. Visit the information center in Rifle, Colorado for more information.
